A week long Golden Jubilee Celebrations!
Inaugural Function - August 31, 2024
Golden Jubilee Celebrations of P.S Educational Society were held from 31st August to 7th September 2024. The renowned Atomic Scientist of India and Former Scientific Adviser to Govt. of India, Padma Vibhushan Awardee Dr R.Chidambram was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function held on 31st August 2024 with Dr V.Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras being the Guest of Honour. Professor V.Kamakoti presented the "Distinguished Alumnus Award" to Dr R.Chidambram.
Alumni Day - Sept 1, 2024
On the second day, the "Alumni Day" was organised and alumni from P.S.Hr.Sec.School, P.S.Sr.Sec.School and P.S.MatricHr.Sec.School participated in a large number.
On the same day, P.S.Temple Green Vidyashram conducted their Annual Day. Dr E.K.T. Sivakumar, Scientist from Anna University, Chennai was the Chief Guest.
Inter School Competitions - Sept 2-3, 2024
The Society through its Schools, conducted Inter-School competitions in Art, Music, Debate, Recitation and Sports for two days. The talent exhibited by our students were amazing. We had cultural performances by our students on Jagatguru Kanchi Sankaracharya and on Valmiki Ramayanam, conceptualized and choreographed by our teachers and presented by our students.
Sri Rama Charitra - Sep 4, 2024
SRKM - P.S. Matriculation Hr. Sec. School hosted a program with Smt. Latha Mohan, Founder, Spalon India as the Chief Guest. The cultural program on Sri Rama Charithra and Play on Rishi Valmiki were exceptional bringing out the talents of our students from Primary to Higher Secondary classes.
Teacher's Day - Sept 5, 2024
It was a sheer co-incidence that Teacher's Day was also a part of the week-long celebrations. All the teachers of P.S. Educational Society Schools had a get together and Dr S.Thirumuragan, Former Controller of Examinations and presently Member of the Senate of the University of Madras and Lt.Genl. A.Arun addressed the teachers on role of teachers in motivating the students and on innovative practices in class room teaching.
Ethics, Values and Traffic Safety - Sept 6, 2024
A rally of students from all five schools on the theme of 'Ethics, Values and Traffic Safety' went around four Mada Streets of Mylapore with students holding placards on the theme and also raising slogans about following traffic rules and campaign against drug abuse. The rally was flagged-off by Dr. Thiru. N. Kannan IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Law & Order, Chennai
Valedictory function - Sept 7, 2024
The valedictory function of the Golden Jubilee was held with Thiru R.N.Ravi, Hon'ble Governor of Tamilnadu, as the Chief Guest. He felicitated all the five Heads of Institutions under the Society for outstanding performance over the years. He also gave away the prizes to the students who had won in the competitions held to mark the Golden Jubilee celebrations and released the first copy of the Souvenir brought out for this special occasion to Dr Sita Sundar Ram, Executive Committee Member, P.S. Educational Society.
